Built during the late 17th century by the chinese merchants residing in parian, this was the house of maria, eleuterio and consolacion yap. the eldest daughter, maria yap later on married to don mariano sandiego a cabeza de barangay of parian late 1880's, at present this ancestral house is in the custody of mr. and mrs. val sandiego.

Now the yap-sandiego ancestral house in under the care of val sandiego who treasures the history and respects the significance of the house which way back became the home of his forefathers. val tried his best to restore this very old house so that people can be able to see what it was back then. a lot showed interest in buying the place but he refuses to sell the house and vows to continue caring for this historic structure. the stuffs used in building the yap-sandiego ancestral house were precious coral stones that affixed together with egg whites just like baclayon church that can be found in the province of bohol. the roof of the house is made up of clay called wood of all times that makes the house very tough. The ancestral house is wide open to the public day after day from 9:00am to 6:00pm. it sports a few old and new artworks, life-sized statues like the sto. nino. visitors need to pay an entrance of P50/$1.14 |
